The Family Nutrition Program (FNP) is a grant funded program by the USDA Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed). It helps limited-income families and youth acquire the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and changed behavior necessary to improve their diets with better nutrition. The Part-Time Office Assistant will perform programmatic support functions for the Family Nutrition Program in Duval County. Duties will include: answering telephone; writing correspondences; reviewing fiscal paperwork, including time cards, travel reimbursement, receipts, and other reports for accuracy and completeness; ordering supplies; compiling reports, routine paperwork, and assisting with program set up and preparation.
Programmatic Support: Makes copies, files, and other routine paperwork necessary to support the program. Assist with program preparation, including, but not limited to, making copies, food shopping, food preparation, and preparing program materials, and creating displays for public health events.
Fiscal Operations: Understand policies and procedures related to time worked, leave, travel, and personnel, and purchasing. Assist FNP Program Manager with review of fiscal and personnel paperwork, including time and labor, travel reimbursement, and receipts for accuracy and completeness. Prepare and send paperwork to state office. Keep appropriate files of all fiscal and programmatic paperwork. Order supplies and materials as needed.
Programmatic Reporting: Assist FNP Program Manager with monthly reporting, mid-year, end of year, and other reports as required.
Communications: Answer telephones, compose letters and emails, assist with planning meetings and monitoring calendars for all FNP employees in the county.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
If this position will assist with food shopping and/or food preparation, this position will be required to achieve and maintain food safety certification.
Normal Work Schedule: 20 Hours per week during the hours of 8 to 5, Monday through Friday. Limited weekend or overnight travel may be required.
High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience.
Ability to work independently and exercise judgment is required. Excellent written and oral communications skills are required. Advanced proficiency and fluency in the Microsoft software series. Ability to use equipment/hardware: desktop pc, laptop, copier/scanner/fax, and calculator. Reliable daily transportation.
